Homosexuality, my response (was Re: racial...)

Hi all,
Just wanted to share a personal thought or two.
I have a few openly gay/lesbian acquaintences (and a couple are friends)
from college. I have never once treated them any differently than my other
unsaved friends. I have been just as kind, just as patient, just as Agape
(lack of a better term). Those who don't know I'm Apostolic *do* know at
least that I'm a devout Christian.
If one of them asks me how I feel about homosexuality (hasn't happened yet,
but if it does...) I plan on being perfectly honest with them. I will tell
them that I disagree with the lifestyle, but that does not authorize me to
treat them any differently than anyone else. That to me, they are *people
first* (albeit misguided and confused) and as such, they are our Biblically
defined *neighbor*, and as such, we are commanded to love them with Godly
love.
My hope and prayer is, that at least the homosexual people I have had
chance to cross paths with will remember my honesty and integrity with them
as people. Hopefully, if more *loving* (Agape) Apostolics would follow
this example (compassion without compromise), this will help end the
stereotype among the homosexual community that they are hated by
Christians. Maybe some of my homosexual friends will come closer to Jesus,
become convicted of their sin, and repent.
