Racism in Pentecost

I've read several comments regarding the issue of racism.

I came from a UPC church that said "whites could not marry blacks because
they were 'different'". Isn't this a form of racism? Althought he church was
made up of different races, the blacks were discriminated against from
marrying outside their race. BTW, I live in California, not in the south part
of the US where this is not tolerated.

I have a difficult time seeing how a person can be preaching "Truth" and
hold these views that one must marry within their race. Moses married an
Ethiopian woman (black woman) and Miriam, Moses sister, spoke out against
it. She was cursed with leopracy. See Numbers 12.

In conclusion, according to scripture, no person (including Pastors and
preachers) have any right telling people who they can or cannot marry as
far as race is concerned. We are only forbidden to marry an unbeliever.

In our church, our music director is black and his wife is white. We treat
both of them normally. There is nothing wrong about it. We don't call ourselves
a "White church" just because our services are in english. When I went to
Arkansas a couple of years ago, the racial tension was obvious. One person
called me "boy" in a sarcastic way. (I'm hispanic). I didn't allow that smart
remark to intimidate me. I preached in a church that had no blacks in it. It
was all white. I was the only hispanic. However, when they saw me operate
in the Gifts of the Spirit and the Word of Knowledge, they received and were
responsive to my message. People need to learn that "all" people are equal in
the sight of God. If there is a so called "Pastor" who preaches a "racist"
message, he needs to step down from the pulpit because someone is going to
listen to him and think it is God who is saying this, since the Pastor preaches
from the Bible.

Preachers, we need to keep our opinions out of the pulpit or personal
preferences lest we fall into judgment. If our heart condemn us, God is
greater than our heart.
