You may be right, anything is possible. If we produced a similar
dictionary would we allow the Trinitarian position to be accuratly
represented?
However, one of the "main editors" is Dr. Gary McGee. I have had the
privilage to be in several of his classes, he is my acedemic advisor,
and a friend of mine. I was in his class when he was talking about the
Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches of North America and how Oneness
Believers were barred from this organization, that was formed for the
purpose of reconcilation (not merger) of the Pentecostal groups. I saw
the tears in his eyes, and heard the tremor in his voice when he stated
that the people that were responsible would have to stand before God and
be judged for the hatred they feel toward their brothers (us!). Please
do not be too quick to judge someone you have never met.
It is a marvel that we were included in the first place. It is also a
marvel that J.L. Hall was allowed to write ANY articles for the
dictionary (The Dictionary of Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements).
Bro. Hall does have a masters degree--in journalism. David Reed has a
Doctor of Theology and wrote his dissertation on Oneness. If you think
that you disagree with his artical in the dictionary, then you should
read his dissertation! (This is not a recommendation of his position on
Oneness.) He was apparently UPC for a couple of years before he started
his educational process, it is a shame that he never understood the
beliefs that he discredited.
