        Dear Lisa:

CONGRATS! on being asked to sit on the discussion panel. I remember
when I took a religion class here at Austin College with Dr Roy
Melugin(world renowned for his studies on the Book of Isaiah). I was really
scared and nervous the first couple of classes. I know it was the Holy
Ghost that moved on me to take that class. How did I know? B/C I was
already in an Art class when I decided to drop the Art Class(and I do not
believe in dropping a class) and take a religion class: "Jesus." The class
challenged my beliefs and to be honest I was only 4 years old in the Lord
but it showed me that I must be "instant in season and out of season," I
must study to show "thyself" approved and I need to hide his word not only
in my mind but in "my heart." Anyway, about 9 weeks into the class we got
on the Book of Acts and the Book of Romans and salvation according to
different denominations and religions. When it was my turn to speak I tried
to apply the word of God--"speak the truth in "love" and I can't find the
scripture but I know that you know where it is--the one where the Lord told
the Apostles not to think about what they were saying but let the Holy
Ghost speak through them. I guess what I am saying do not try and use
intellect in the sense of mind vs mind b/c that is what they are used to. I
hope this makes a little bit of sense. But let the Holy Ghost have control
of your tongue b/c I know from reading your discussions you know the Word of
God. In a nutshell please speak the "truth" in love and let the Holy Ghost
speak through you. Good luck and you will do GREAT!!!

I will be praying "with" you. Also, I learned a lot about the Old
Testament and I learned deeper truths from the people around me. I thought
I had all the truth but I didn't. Yes, I had salvational truth but I didn't
understand such topics as "love," "differences between religion and being
spiritual," etc. I didn't really know the effect or if I even had an effect
on any of those students in the classroom until 2 years later when a young
lady came up to me and said that she had heard about the "Holy Ghost" and
"speaking in tongues" from other sources but never from anyone in an
academic setting(not to say I am anything) but sometimes it may take an
"educated" person(in the sense someone who has a degree) to witness to a
prof with his PHD or a lawyer, etc. not to say that is how it has to
happenen all the time. BUT God knows how to penetrate people's hearts. I
hope this makes a little bit of sense and I hope this is encouraging to you.

        Sincerely,
David Noll
