I think the subject line of this thread is amusing: the *moving* of God,
and we're talking about transportation :-)

My modes of transporation aren't all that unique:

91 Isuzu Rodeo Yuppiemobile with 160K miles
96 Honda Civic (don't know how may miles)
87 Centurion Accordo bicycle with 15K miles (yes, I have speedometer
and odometer on my bike. 25 miles one way work to home takes 1 hr 10
min. I carry pepper spray as a gift for the farm dogs.)

Motor vehicles were purchased used, of course. I don't buy cars
without haggling on the price, and I do not pay book value on a car.

The Rodeo was a stupid impulse purchase, and I paid more than I should
have on it probably. The Civic was a replacement for an 86 Nissan
Sentra that I bought for $500 that finally quit running and was so
rusted out you could see daylight through the floor.

In college, my wife had an old yellow slug bug (VW Beetle) and a 71
Dodge Valiant -- they've both gone to the big junkyard in the sky long
ago.

I puttered around on my bike usually, but I also had a really cool
bright orange '79 *Japanese Domestic model* Toyota mini-van, which
means the steering wheel was on the right side of the vehicle,
everything was metric, and parts for it were impossible to find. I
never shoulda sold that one. I almost guarantee you've never seen
anything like it in your life unless you've been overseas. My buddies
and I in college called it the "Samurai Overdrive." The van was a
four-speed with a really dinky 1.6 liter 4 banger (the same thing used
in Toyota Corollas at the time). It was a fun little buggy. When I
drove to California to Texas, I'd be lucky to do 40 MPH on some of the
inclines in the Rocky Mountains.
