Let us even get a burden for our neighbors who worship at the
"Full-gospel" church down the road. Yes, that means we need a burden

for our AOG.Charismatic, Charasmatic {Pentecostal} friends for they
have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof.May God bless you

as you endeavor to preach the Word of the One, True and Living God."

As pastor of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of Newcastle Bridge,

N.B. I appreciate the "burden for our neighbors who worship at the
"Full- gospel church down the road" . I trust that includes the
pastor and church across the border in Canada.
When will people learn that labels are not a true description of
people, even the UPC is not always the same in every church, maybe
you need to pray for some upc church down the road, or Apostolic
church, etc. I wonder how many will get to heaven if you are that
one that decides. I for one am glad that God will decide who gets to

heaven and that I am not the one that decides. Anyway lots of prayer

for our Full Gospel Pentecostal Church!!

I write:
My apologies Brother Drost. I have nothing against our apostolic
brothers with independent churches, our Apostolic AOG brothers (I
don't know, some AOG churches may actually preach the ENTIRE message
of salvation and Holiness! =>) or our ALJC brothers! (And sisters,
yes :) I hope this was a simple misunderstanding on what I was
saying and not a nit-pick. I wanted to relay my thought without
people getting hung up on the words (Much like some UPC churches are
hung up on the name).

First of all, my point was: We need to pray for those that may
believe in speaking of tongues, but only for the gift. Believe in
the baptism of the Holy Ghost, but only for the blessing. Believe in
baptism in water, but only for the ceremony. Believe in the name of
Jesus for everything but baptism in water. We have many so-called
"Pentecostal" churches in my small town. We have the "Pentecostal
Church of God" (Charasmatic--IOW: They can shout and dance, but they
probably have no idea why they are doin it...?), "The Church"
(charasmatic), "Full Gospel Tabernacle" (charasmatic), and many
others. The only AOG (Assembly of God) church continues to tell me
that they are a Pentecostal just like me. (1st AOG is obviously
charasmatic--For example, a member might tell you they had 20 saved
and after that, 3 were baptized in the Holy Ghost, although no one
spoke in tongues, and they baptized about 4 in the name of the F,S,
HG.) So, now I am getting away from calling myself just a
"Pentecostal" (Just as many of you shy away from the perverted term
"christian"). I call myself a UPC'er (because most people know what
that is...not just for the name's sake) or, more often, an Apostolic.
God forbid that I require God's church to have a name or a head
other than the name and leadership of Christ. I am for the UPC and
other Apostolic organizations only for the benifit of better
communication with "Sister-churches." In fact, our church sends our
money only to certain missions and funds of the UPC instead of the
UPC directly. We have also been saying we are AKA "First Church on
the Hill." So, as you can see, neither I nor my church is hung up on
names or organizations. When someone tells me they are "Pentecostal",
it usually leads me to ask (embarrasing on my part) questions like
"Well, do you affirm Acts 2:38?" (They say WHAT? I say, you know,
the three requirements of salvaiton and they usually say, "Well do
you affirm John 3:16?" and I say yes and they say "Well then, welcome
brother." And I say, "but that is only one scripture in the bible,
we must use the WHOLE bible to find salvation" and it usually leads
to confusion.) However, if someone says, I am from the UPC or the
ALJC or even (I'm makin this one up) "The Apostolic organization of
Acts 2:38", then I can promote brotherhood with the "Pentecostal"
full in the assurance that this person has received the plan of
salvation as laid out in the Bible and not the common plan laid out
by man. No brother, I don't have anything against you, your church,
or canada (or Iraq, for those interested :). I don't defend the UPC
when it makes a mistake and I don't condemn either. My purpose is to
serve God in His spirit and in His church (That being the local body
of Christ with which I worship, 1st UPC....AKA 1st church on the Hill.
) God never gave His church a name and I won't either. But He did
give us a doctrine and I can find His church with a doctrinal
checklist I like to call the Bible. :-) God bless you all and
forgive my lack of elaboration.

I affirm the biblical foundation for a relationship with God: We are
to turn away from doing wrong, be baptized in the name of Jesus in
accordance with scriptural examples, receive the marvelous gift of
the Holy Spirit, and embrace a daily walk with Him. (See Acts 2:38)
