Bro Mike:
Two Questions
1. What were you doing watching TV.
ME:
1. Thank you for "catching me red-handed" brother mike. But let me
give an excuse...I was bored? Now, before you accusse me of
slothfulness, let me say that what I just said was a sarcastic remark.
Actually, I was at a friend's house. We were in the living room
doing a poster for church (youth group). It was about our NIKES
(Nessecary to Invite Kompany Every Sunday) in which we go out into
the community on saturday mornings (we work the JW shift) and invite
people to church. Her parents turned on the TV and while they were
waiting for the news to come on, they were watching TBN because it
had a movie on. Now, brother Mike, I didn't feel it was nessecary
to bore everyone with the details as I have done here, and I didn't
expect to be stoned for not "explaining myself." I gave my testemony
because that experience gave me a burden. You missed the point and
went straight to the TV. I try to stay away from the TV as I don't
personally watch it because I know the evils that are portrayed.
However, it seems that when I write a letter about getting a burden
for the lost (which, before I got on this list I thought was the
primary goal of the church: "The Lost") you run straight to the TV.
I really wanted that letter to be a blessing. I wanted to share two
things 1) The Biblical doctrine of Acts 2:38 is evident in the Bible
and the Lord has not forsaken the few that are still preaching it.
and 2) With that fact in mind, let's go out into the world and preach
this to the lost and hell-bound world! If you don't know how much
this condemnation and accusation hurts me, then I'm sorry.
2. Is it good to watch/Listen to any preacher who we know is not
teaching the truth?
No...when was I watching a preacher? I saw a movie about paul for
maybe 3 minutes. And brother mike, if you want to condemn me for
this, then I stand guilty as charged. Because my mom is baptist, and
I am commanded to honor her and her wishes, I go to her church every
sunday morning and sunday nite. No, truth isn't always preached
there. But can I worship there? Yes, because He goes with me
wherever I go and I know longer have to go to Him in a designated
Holy of Holies. I choose to obey my mother and try to go to *my*
church every chance that I can get. I choose NOT to rebel and help
satan accomplish what he desires so strongly.
Second point: I made it clear this was a movie. I thought it was
clear that this wasn't a preaching service. Now I know that I should
have cleared up the fact that it was not my house or my TV. However,
if I had known that the primary focus of my brothers and sisters was
to accuse, try and sentence me (before I could explain) over a
misunderstood statement, then I probably would have written
differently. Next time, I'll be sure to write something that will
REALLY give you a chance to slaughter me.

I affirm the biblical foundation for a relationship with God: We are
to turn away from doing wrong, be baptized in the name of Jesus in
accordance with scriptural examples, receive the marvelous gift of
the Holy Spirit, and embrace a daily walk with Him. (See Acts 2:38)
