Has anybody noticed that not everything in the bible is a heaven or
hell issue. Standards are not from men but from God, convictions
that God gives, given by the Spirit of God. Why do people when cut
lose from strong standards become so wild at times? It is because
they are led by men, changing their standards depending on who is
their pastor and what denomination they are in. No personal
conviction or dedication to what God tells them.
Matthew 5:19 "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least
commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in
the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the
same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. " Jesus here is
not saying that they will be outside of the kingdom of heaven, he
said they would be least or great. Lets teach people that
performance or obedience can determine their position in the kingdom,
not always a heaven or hell issue. Maybe the load will be easier and
the burden will be light if people only understood the reasons for
obedience. Obeying because we love Him and want to please Him not
always as fire insurance!
