I've put my $0.02 about Paul, now Azusa Street.

1900 the Rev Charles F. Parham(Methodist minister) starts Bible school in
Topeka Kansas, five yrs later he opened a second school in Houston Texas.
One W. J. Seymor attended this school. W.J. Seymor started a revival in
Los Angeles fresh from Parham's school. His message on speaking in
tounges "offended" the church elders; he was booted out.

At the request of a member he preached at her house; the Holy Ghost fell
and numbers grew. After searching for a large building, 312 Azusa Street
was secured. He continued preaching for three years.

During this time visitors from all walks of life from around the world
visited. Jewish Rabbies were converted, doctors, ministers, reporters
attended.

So I would conclude quite a few at Azusa Street were Biblical scholars and
carried degrees at that time.
