Generally, if watching "TV" is a mandate from God, then why
aren't all of the saints aware of it being a sin issue?
It comes down to the usage of the technology. The large screened
audio visual electronic device isn't sin in itself. In fact, I don't
know if anything (item) by itself is sin. Money (by itself) isn't sin.
However the *love* of money is highly addicting and is said to be the
root of all evil. There are acceptable usages of the technology so
frowned upon. Hey! I can take you to a mongo sized apostolic church
that has two absolutely huge wide-screen projection tv screens on either
side of the platform so that those sitting in the extreme left- and right-
wings near the front can see what's going on because of the three video
cameras stationed in the left-, center-, and right- up in the balcony.
If it weren't for the technology of the common tv, we wouldn't be enjoying
this forum of Higher-Fire.
I'd say it's more accurate to say, Bro Troy, that watching TV is a
sin issue for *you*. For some, tv doesn't have the controlling pull
that it might have had on you. Just like some folks are immune to the
pull of drugs, gambling, and sex doesn't mean that those issues aren't a
sin issue to others as well. But we all know there are folks that are
always trying to kill their own personal giants whether it be tv, drugs,
sex, gambling, alcohol, etc. that is constantly trying to overtake the
saint.
