O.k. the above was probably a bad choice of words and probably doesn't
do well standing on it's own.
This is what I meant. It seems with the changing of the guard (when there
weren't any formal bible schools to teach the vast knowledge (which is
highly usable)) from the old pass-it-down-knowledge with signs and wonders
following to the structured university environment that teaches a head
knowledge (but fails or lacks power imparted to the students) there's been
a gap of the *move* of the Holy Ghost during this guard change.
Does that mean there aren't any God annointed highly educated saints? Nope.
Does that mean that the "unlearned" preacher can only deliver messages
that are void of facts and figures? Nope.
To find the balance between a formally educated preacher and God
annointed preaching is a rare find these days. I think the bible
school cranks out administrators more than it does soul winners.
And in some cases (don't know how widespread), I think the motives
that some choose to go to bible school are for reasons other than
spreading the gospel (like finding a help mate). It just seems that,
in more cases that I'm aware of than not, formal education has
displaced the annointing in many of the young ministers.
I think it's more common, for the common Bob to be called of God and then
he sit under a pastor as an apprentice for a period of time while he learns
the do's and don'ts of seeking after the annointing of God in all aspects
of the ministry that the gospel be spread.
