He even spoke through Baalam's ass, so it does not even have to be a
person -- God can speak through whatever means he chooses.

BTW If you really want to pick nits, you should be counting *GREEK*
words when you see who wrote more words, not English words... or
should we be counting Greek letters vs English letters of the
alphabet?  How about pen strokes?  Molecules of ink?  What is the
optimal metric?  How about divine truths revealed!  Who cares how many 
or few words it takes to reveal them!
