Just so I dont get heat directed towards me, the above paragraph was
actually what
I was replying to, that which someone else wrote.

However, to further comment, on what Bro Tyler has stated very truthfully
in a
earlier reply......
I agree up to a point about the Bible college comments made. I dont
think it
is 100% of the students though. There are still some who are earnest and
truthfully
going to Bible college, to expand their knowledge. Sadly though, there
are also many
which go, and learn their 3 points and a story sermon, and use Bible
college to
"spring board" into fellowship circles or to butter up to well known
preachers.

I have been considering whether or not to attend Bible school for a few
years.
There are certain classes though, which, while they seem harmless, I
don't see the
total need for them. Like for example, one class helps you structure a
sermon, and
teaches you how to present it, making emphasis on certain words or
points. I ask
though, if we are mearly a vessel, allowing the Holy Ghost to use us, and
speak
through us, why do I need to learn how to do these things? I look at
Moses or Paul,
both having speaking problems, yet the Lord tells Moses to not worry,
that He would
speak for him and through him.

I add to this another point that has stuck with me. Bro Kilgore from
Texas was speaking
at the UPC Youth Congress in TN last year for a young ministers class.
He spoke about
2 men. One man, well educated, many degrees, and "well-off" and
"well-known" person,
stepped in front of a crowd, and begin to read a passage from Psalms in
his eloquent
and well versed, dramatic way. After he was done, he was given a
standing ovation.
The second man reading from the same passage, stood in front of the
crowd, and begin to
plainly read the scripture. After he was done, the whole room of people
was in tears.
While the first man had shown his well educated side, and was applauded
for his expertise,
the second man, moved the heart of the people. Oh......who was the
second man? Simply
a unknown preacher, no college experience, no money, farmer type...

I am not against Bible colleges, or furthering ones education.....
But I do ask, where have the week long, month long, revivals gone? The
revivals
which started at 6 or 7, and did not end until after midnight, with tear
soaked altars.
Why is it when fire and brimstone is preached in the 90's, saints cry out

"judgemental", or "legalist?" How did sin become the common thing, and
Holiness
the uncommon?

Is it possible that some have grown accustomed to wanting to fill the
pews and in order
to do this, they have to tickle the ears with pleasing sermons? Is it
possible
that some are out there to just pad the pocket book and not fill the
heart?

Lord I cry out, don't ever let become lukewarm, if you have to reshape
this vessel,
and/or humble this vessel, do what ever it takes....but I pray, don't
ever let me become
so cold to the moving that I begin to preach a empty message. Lord use
me. Lord
give me your Wisdom, for I know, it is more powerful than that which man
can ever
give me. It is ALL you Lord. Without you, my words simple become a long
winded
message.

I pray for revival Lord....one with no time frame, no schedule of events,
one that simply lets the Holy Ghost move.......I pray for the fire and
brimstone
messages of old....the boldness....the firm foundation sermons.....living
and dying
for the truth. Lord, most of all, I pray for saints who grow to have the
desire and faith
which your Word speaks of. We in America have groown to
comfortable....in need
of nothing......many today can be compared to the church of
laodicea....spewed out
of your mouth. Lord, I hear your alarm, I hear your warning....like an
alarm clock going
off.....many hit the snooze and roll back over.......just like the
disciples at the
garden, I pray to never hear the words...."sleep on now." You still have
a heart
here, in me, wanting to be used, wanting to stand up for
righteousness.....If you can
use anything Lord...you can use me.

Chris
