SEVEN SURPRISES
It has been said that the person who begins to pay tithes will have seven
surprises
1: At the amount of money he has for God's Work.
2: At the deepening of his own Spiritual life.
3: At the ease with which he meets his own obligations.
4: At the pleasure found in larger giving,
5: At the satisfaction in the practice of stewardship in time, talents, and
possessions
6: At his new appreciation of the Goodness of God.
7: At himself, for not having adopted the plan sooner.
Tithing is GOD'S FINANCIAL PLAN. Serving God is less expensive than serving
satan and self.
It brings GOD'S RICH BLESSINGS.
1: MATERIAL-- 90% goes further than the whole 100% would.
Deuteronomy 28:38 Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and
shalt gather [but] little in; for the locust shall consume it. Thou shalt
plant vineyards, and dress [them], but shalt neither drink [of] the wine, nor
gather [the grapes]; for the worms shall eat them. Thou shalt have olive
trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint [thyself] with the
oil; for thine olive shall cast [his fruit].
This explains the prosperity, as a whole, of the Mormons and
Adventists.
2; PHYSICAL-- Better health-- God's help:
"I will rebuke the devourer."
Deuteronomy 28:27 The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and
with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not
be healed.
Deuteronomy 28:35 The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the
legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto
the top of thy head.
3: SPIRITUAL-- "I will pour you out a blessing."
The knowledge of God-- in return for obedience.
Isaiah 6:9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed,
but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of
this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see
with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart,
and convert, and be healed.
Deuteronomy 29:4 Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to
perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day. And I have led
you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you,
and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot. Ye have not eaten bread,
neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I [am] the
LORD your God.
4: PEACE WITH GOD. This is MOST IMPORTANT.
Isaiah 48:17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of
Israel; I [am] the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth
thee by the way [that] thou shouldest go. O that thou hadst hearkened to my
commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the
waves of the sea:
Be honest with God. Pay Him, as you pay your other obligations.
To Refuse, is Robbery. Brings a Curse.
Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say,
Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye [are] cursed with a
curse: for ye have robbed me, [even] this whole nation.
