"Locust" (As in Matt. 3:4, Mk 1:6, Rev. 9:3, 9:7)

(#200, Strongs)--"akris";  apparently from the same root as 206; a locust
(as pointed, or as lighting on the top of vegetation):--locust

(#206)--"Akrothinion"; neuter of an adj. probably akin to the base of 188;
the extremity:--one end...other, tip, top, uttermost part.


Please note, it was #200 that was used in the above verses.  Describing an
insect that sits "atop" vegetation.  Sure sounds a lot like our
"grasshopper"-like insect to me! :)
