You:

Me:
Welcome to the club. ;-)
You:
> Question:
> Do you believe in transubstantiation, the literal body flesh of
> Christ in the consecrated bread, and do you believe in the blood
> being wine changed into blood .
Me:
In a word: NO!!! I 'thought' I said that...
You:
If you do then you believe the Roman
> Catholic doctrine, that has so many people trusting that salvation is
> in the act of taking the waffer, body of Christ and that the wine is
> the literal blood of Christ.
Me:
Someone correct me if I am wrong <sure, I know you will...> but I though I
***CLEARLY*** labeled Catholic doctrine: 'GARBAGE'. ;-)
You:
If you do then you had better find
> salvation, as salvation is not found in that ceremony.
Me:
I didn't say you would be saved by performing this ceremony, I said that
you would be LOST if you ***DIDN'T***. Big difference!
Also, I don't want to give the impression that the ceremony is the ALL AND
ALL of what Jesus was speaking about. He was also refering to the true
'communion' that we, as His brothers and sisters are to have with Him:
1 Corinthians 10:16
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of
Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of
Christ?
Why do you think there is such a caution to not take the bread and the wine
'unworthily'? What are the consequences of partaking of this 'ceremony'
with a selfish heart:
1 Corinthians 11:27
Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord,
unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 11:29
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation
to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
"Eateth and drinketh *damnation*. Jesus says that IF you eat His flesh HE
will 'abide' (*STAY/REMAIN*) with you. Paul says that if you partake of
the bread and the wine, the SYMBOLS that bring the broken flesh and the
shed blood of Christ into ***REMEMBERANCE*** you eat and drink your own
damnation.
Where is the confusion?
Quit arguing against the Catholics and start trying to find out what the
Word DEMANDS.
Said in love. I would like to commend you sir on your conduct in this
exchange!
