Bro. Tim:

"therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called
the Son of God." The word translated 'Holy thing' is hag-ee-os which means
"holy" which means 'set aside'. Jesus is 'set aside for God's own personal
use, He is the *instrument* that carries God's will to you and I.

Me:
Although I don't disagree with your conclusion that "Jesus is 'set aside for
God's own personal use," I think it should be pointed out that the primary
definition of "hagios" is sacred, pure, or blameless. Moreover, the the word
"hagios'" translates to "holy" only and the word "thing" (I thought was
interesting) comes from "logos" meaning thought or plan.
