Me:
What was it that one kept in their right hand in those days?
A sWord? A septer? A staff? A rod?
ALL inanimate instruments that 'carried' the will of the one who wielded
the instument. ;-) These 'things' became the symbol of the AUTHORITY and
POSITION of those who used them:
Luke 1:35
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon
thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also
that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
"therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called
the Son of God." The word translated 'Holy thing' is hag-ee-os which means
"holy" which means 'set aside'. Jesus is 'set aside for God's own personal
use, He is the *instrument* that carries God's will to you and I.
We are to be conformed to this image.
