organizations

Many have been expressing their opinion about organizations, so I
thought that I would throw in my two cents worth.
The problem with any organization, and this goes for us independants as
well, is that there are people in them. The problem with people is that
everyone was and is born outside of Eden. Everyone, no exceptions.
This means, of course, that we all have to continually be on guard
agianst our sin-nature or we will display how sinful we still are. We
all have to subdue the natural man daily, or we will respond in anger,
pride, selfishness, greed, and etc. It is man's nature to
organize--even if he/she is independant.
The important thing to remember is that we are to love each other, even
if we disagree, even if we belong to different organizations. We can
disagree and treat each other with dignity and respect, after all we
really do not have a choice in the matter, Scripture instructs us to
love everyone, even those who hate us. Should I point out that this
also includes Trinitarians?
If you want your church to grow, try loving people. My wife and I have
visited many churches where we were made to feel unwelcome. Such as the
PAW church where the youth paster let us know that we should find a
"white" church. Or the UPC church where most of the members would not
speak to us even after we had attended for a couple of months. These
incidents are not the fault of the organizations, but of indivual people
who are not as holy or righteous as they think they are. These same
incidents could have happened in independant churches. It is not an
organization problem, it is a people problem. People that yeld to
sin--as we are all subject to do.
