hmmm...I have noticed some of what you speak of, but mostly (especially
in the case of Bro Thorn and the UPC thing) the misunderstanding is more
often on the side of the one who thinks that others are being hostile
against them. Seems that not all read every post on a certian thread. So
if a post shows up on the thread they have to make assumptions to fill
in the gaps that the not reading left. THe post that ired Bro Thorn was
a response to my post, not his. So his inferance that he was being
attacked was wrong.
Psa 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall
offend them.
I always refer to the above scripture and others (fruits of the spirit
when posting here) I dont want to place anything here that is seen as
offensive to others. But we have a prevailing attitude here of what I
call "thin-skinnedness". That is some people cant seem to take an
differing view with an arguement. I love to talk about the end times,
but get a group talking about the timeing of the rapture and people seem
to go nuts ;o( , so I refrain. Items like holiness and others that are
not some much the salvation issues that we all agree to are not issues
we should argue about, but issues we should discuss and act like
Christians as we do it. We can agree to disagree, but yet listen to the
other side because we might just learn something!
As for the moderators causing the problem, that is not even close to the
truth. The moderators protect us from ourselves (dunb post that we
should never have sent) and from others that would disrupt the group.
The hispanic Apostolic list you mentioned are (from my understanding of
the hispanic oneness pentecostal movement) predominately members of the
same organization. So there will be less disagreement in doctrine.
I agree that we need to all take a deep breath, take a time to pray then
post to the list and stop the petty bickering. We are all part of the
body and if we are divided then who can we ever expect to show the world
the glorious truth of the gospel?
(leaping of the soap box)
FYI - for those who have kept up with the on goings my new church has
seen, we were informed in the last few days to drop our attempt at
getting a UPC association, so now a church of 145 people just went
independant. So this area of 100,000+ people is to be served by one UPC
associated church (23 people in church last Sunday) and one independant
church!
