"misery"? (Was Re: hello and the rock)

Interesting.  I always thought it was "mis-oo'-ree" (stressed syllable on
"oo").
I know it definitely is NOT "mis-oo-rah" :)  I'm from Cincinnati and I
can't figure out for the life of me how "i" managed to get "ah" phonics! :)
 While I'm at it :), "Xavier" is pron. "zavyer" not "x-avyer".  Nobody ever
says "x-eerox" do they? :)
