Robert Thorn would say: I see a group of people, one in doctrine, one in
purpose, one in baptism, divided in governments. If I were looking for those
who had the keys, I'd say it was the United Pentecostal Church (Upon this
Rock)International, and if I were looking for the workings of the gifts of
the Spirit, I'd be looking amoung its people for those, and if I were
looking for the head, I say it was Brother Urshan.

Ouch! I was baptised in Jesus' name in a UPC church by the late Bro. David
Gray in San Diego, CA in 1976. I currently am a member of a UPC church and
the pastor is my best friend. (What does that have to do with my point?)
I do not believe that the majority in the UPC believes as you (thank God).
(Is this an intended pun?) The "keys" that Peter had were the truth(thats
the rock I spoke of) of death, burial and resurection. Praise God that there
are many independant Apostolic churches and other Apostolic organzations
that have this same truth.(I didn't say there wasn't) "The Rock" He was
reffering to is Jesus(He is the Rock UPC preaches isn't HE?) and not
Peter(and the Rock Peter preached?) or the UPCI, and I assure you that you
will find the gifts of the Spirit in His I know that, but I go to UPC)
church regardless of what the name says over the door. And if your still
looking for the head you need to be saved. (Doesn't deserve a response)

Bro. Stan Hallett

"Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of
a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom." - James 3:13
(Is this some kind of warning, or repremand?)

Brother Stan: You don't know me. Are you one that looks on Brother Urshan as
a grand POO BAH?

I don't know how you all read into my post all the things you do, but I
don't have any desire to respond in the negative. It certainly wasn't the
way I intended to be understood. Here is a message the wouldn't pass
through Higher-Fire.
(snip) But if a group of trinitarians--people who
already believed in Jesus, by the way--became zealous for holiness and for
the Holy Ghost, then it is quite conceivable to me that Jesus could guide
them "into all truth", "teach [them] all things", and out of their own
Bibles "bring all things to [their] remembrance, whatsoever [He] ha[s]
said unto [them]." (from John 16:13 and John 14:26)

Troy

Bro. Troy: It is my opinion that it would still be done in similar manner as
Acts 8:26-35 Acts 9:10-17, Acts 10:31-35, Ro. 10:14, and many more.
Somewhere God has always had a people. The roots of the tree never ceased.
Robert Thorn
Bro. Thorn:
I get the impression that you might not want submit to
authority.

Me:
Matthew 23:10
Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

Bro. Thorn:

Brother L. : I have family members that belong to an organized-unorganizat-
ion that preach they have only Christ as their head and that anything with a
covering (name) is in error. Most of these groups (there are several) were
onlookers in the beginning of the latter rain outpouring and didn't want to
get involved with any group. Today they don't understand the meaning of
baptism, the Oneness of God, the gifts of the Spirit, the importance of
sound doctrine, etc. They don't see a spiritual order of the Old Testament
Holy Priesthood either.

I differ in my beliefs with them and with you that God left us with no
Spiritual authority to follow. I'm convienced that the Holy Priesthood is
still baring up the ark of God in this world and I see it in those who have
fought every king of spirit imaginable that has come against it. They just
keep on keeping on.
When this thing started we were called fanatics because of speaking in
tounges and falling out in the Spirit. Then we were kicked out of other
groups because of baptism in Jesus name. Then dress set us apart for many years.
Then came the years of divisions on governments and television. I heard many
Holy Ghost anointed messages from our leaders warning against these spirits
that had crept in unaware. I never heard of any preachers disfellowshipped,
or their liscense pulled for their difference's, but I know of many that
left UPC because of them.
Now I see a in my minds eye a group of Spirit filled men that had a special
annointing of God in that didn't waiver in their beliefs and respect they
had for our organization even though it meant seperating themselves off from
some very dear preacher friends, and even revelatives for this Oneness
message, and strong church government.
Thats why I wonder about those who say, "I have only Christ as my head." It
is my personal belief that God still has a Spiritual annointed Holy
Priesthood operating in all this and I see Brother Nathial Urshan as the
appointed head, elected by a Holy Ghost filled order of men that is bearing
up the ark of the covenant in this world today. It is also my personal
belief the inside the ark is the law of the spirit, and that is the Gospel
of the Apostles, and Prophets Jesus Christ the Chief Cornerstone.
That is also the reason that I'm grieved when I hear people use slang words
toward that which I hold in highest esteem.
I know that at meetings some make jokes about Brother Urshan as a man, and
his position, but I think it should remain at the meetings amoung 'our' own.
I saw in another post today in criticism of UPC(I) for its stanchness back
years ago. I tremble to think of where this organization would be today if
the old preachers that blazed the Holiness trail were led by men that think
that things would have been different if they'ed been running it.
The Lord is still pouring out His Spirit in a mighty way. The Gospel we
preach (not me, but our preachers. I'm a laymember)is still the most
powerful amoung all the pentecostal groups today. I see no other groups that
have it together like UPCI.
I also do not think that the annointed message like, "Don't Forget Momma,"
preached by Brother Kilgore at the 1978 general conference needs to be
preached every Sunday to remind the people of who trivailed for them. If
there ain't no Momma, everyone just do their own thing. Robert Thorn
