My answer:
Even people that believe the Oneness don't all agree on the different
points in the doctrine. Uniformity of doctrine is not always to be
attained, especially at the cost of free thought.
Robert Thorn replies:
Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Answer:
Obedience to who. Blind obedience is dangerous and the people that
are not allowed to think become followers without conviction, a
possible victim of somebody that could lead them away from Bible
doctrine and truth. We are to be led by the Spirit. Obedience to
who, men or God? Again free thought allowed thinkers to question
the beliefs of their day and obey bible doctrines that we love today.
I say if we are sure of what we believe we will not be afraid to give
people freedom to think. Are we afraid to allow people to use their
brain and allow God to lead them instead of us always having to be
their conscience and their guide. The bible says to search the
scriptures. Let us teach people to stand on their convictions that
they receive from God.
My answer:
It was free thought that allowed people to get back to some of the
doctrines that we now love.
Robert Thorn replies:
It is also free thought that causes troubles and divides churches.
My answer:
How many Oneness people would there be today if they hadn't of
stepped out of their denominations of their day and took a stand for
what they with free thought had seen in the Word. Were they also
causing trouble and dividing churches. I am glad they stepped out.
Oneness is a doctrine that they stood for and I am glad they stirred
up some trouble and were attacked for what they believe. Don't you?
