It shows what Paul said in Acts, that they are blinded by their own eyes
of understanding.

When* WE* use flesh to understand spiritual things. We become the blind
leading the blind.

Flesh desires flesh, it fights against the spirit.  That is why we have
such 
discussion about standards.   ( sorry Bros.Masoner,Talley, Berger)
