Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... being as I'm one of the few ALJC'ers
around here (Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ), I'd say that what you saw
was more peculiar to the ALJC church you visited that night. I've been
to many around, in Illinois and Indiana, and haven't seen anything that is
separate from what the UPC folks say. I've yet to be to a ALJC church that
even remotely resembles the lack of holiness that is so often found in a
church that swings charismatic. Over in Illinois, I only speak of Illinois
because I was there nearly 12 years in an ALJC church, it seems as though a
majority of the ministers there were ex-UPC ministers that went over to the
ALJC because of mostly not liking the political atmosphere and various
shenanigans of the org. Same doctrine, same holiness, different organization.
It also seems like, as my pastor in Illinois was the ALJC district chairman
for 7-8 years, I've heard where it's been hard to keep some ALJC churches
in the Chicago area because the UPC wants them back too badly and they
somehow work to get them changed back. Sometimes successfully, sometimes
not. I guess it all depends on what the local minister wants and which
org is on his nerves the most ... heh, heh, heh... ;-)

that you do not have to be baptized in water ( to be saved ), They also
assert that you do not have to speak with tounges. ( to be saved ) They
say that tounges are only a spare tire. In other words it is just
something extra if you want it.<<

I don't know if I've *ever* heard an ALJC church stress the *options* of
a plan of salvation. I've always heard Acts 2:38 all of the way and have
heard many, many, many bible studies about the plan of salvation. When
at rallies and fellowship meetings with other churches, I can't say that
I've ever failed to hear it stressed there either.

I'm not saying there aren't any out there (that have zero standards of
holiness). It just maybe fewer and far between than originally perceived.
