Me:
This goes back to March of last year. In the Unity & Diversity thread, I
mentioned that, while all apostolics stress water and Spirit baptism as the
crucial first steps for the repentant believer, not all apostolics agree
that these elements constitute the new birth. The origin of the Fundamental
Doctrine of the United Pentecostal Church, a statement carefully worded to
unite two merging organizations that held differing views on the new birth,
was discussed in a series of messages.

Bro. Masoner forwarded one of my posts to Bro. Fretwell, who responded at
that time with the comments he has now shared on Higher-Fire.

Some will be quick to dismiss Bro. Fretwell's remarks as "soft" or
"liberal." I think we would do well to remember, though, that his direct
involvement in the development of the Oneness movement over many decades
provides him with perspective and insight that few, if any, of us can claim.

I esteem Bro. Fretwell as an elder of the faith, with a heart for God's
people and a love for His Word. I do not take his admonition lightly.

Bro. Fretwell:
>The whole Oneness World is hampered in its effectiveness, by a lack of unity.
>We need to repent.
