CONCERNING THE NEW BIRTH

Bo.Fretwell,

You and I have discussed what it takes to be born again and I think we
agree on most of it......but, what do we have to repent of.....concerning
*our* UPC.. stand?

I always have believed we had to repent...be baptised in Jesus name...
and filled with the holy ghost......also known as speaking in tongues. .

What is wrong with taking a stand on these things?  What is wrong with a
standard ACCORDING AND BASED ON scripture.  NOT a man's conviction? 

A man's conviction is just that and should not be preached as gospel!!!

We have a UPC ministerial standard for the licened breathern, so we will
know we are on the same page and understanding.   I back THAT standard as
a measuring rod so we know and understand each other.

The ministerial standard is not a salvation issue it is an orgaizational
issue. Based on our fellowship.

What your or my pastor teaches from the pulpit should ONLY BE BIBLE
BASED.

Now, I will agree with you and others, some and even maybe most UPC
ministerial standards are bible based....but, since it is a man run
organization it is not PERFECT!!

GASP!!!!  NOT PERFECT?   NO!  It is not perfect.  Jesus is perfect. 

In conclusion I ask. What do we have to repent over, except our sins,
personal sins and not organizational sins? The orgaization can not sin.
Men and women sin.
