Hi Brandon:

I enjoyed your 2 part post. It is such a shame. I think we can only
pray for these folks. They don't see that they really have formed a
cult mentality. We have no business telling someone to repent.
That is judging. Because how does this woman know your heart. Unless
she saw you commit an act of sin, she has no business making
statments like that. And even if she saw you do something, the Bible
is specific about how we are to go to a brother.

I have enjoyed Jan's posts. I think that more ministers should
really study the bible. It is wonderful to be inspired by God, but
we do need wisdom. We have to look at the bible in the context of
its times and when it was written and to whom. Much of the bible is
history. As such, it does not apply to us. Man thinks that we have
to live up to stuff that Jesus already went to the cross for. Jan
was so true when she spoke about the law and how God didn't like
anything that was deformed. So if we have a lame dog or cat, we
would be in violation of the Law. Yet they don't want to see it. I
think you have to look at things even if you don't understand. You
have to pray for knowledge God may hold some of these folks
accountable for the fact that they turned off a prospective soul with
their misinterpretation of the Bible. With few exceptions, much of
the old testament was the law. We are not under the law anymore.
Why can't they understand that? I mean if we follow the old
testament, polygamy would be OK. But it is not. Divorce would be OK
for any reason, but it is not. An eye for an eye would be OK but it
is not. How come they cannot address these things? Because they
cannot. They can only recite the same old stuff that has been
indoctrinated into their brains. They speak as from rote. It is so,
so sad.

I am glad that you are at least open to learn. The bible says to
study to show thyself approved. We do need to study. We need to ask
God to help us discern His word that we might not sin against him.

Love in Christ,

Sis. K
