Bro. Norman,
The Lord must really be giving you favor in your campus ministry. When I
went to UH, Campus Crusade for Christ was one of the most anti-Holy Ghost
groups on campus. If people wanted to be involved in their missionary
trips they had to sign a paper stating that they wouldn't speak in tongues
while they were there!
We had a oneness campus ministry at UH and we got involved one year with
other groups to have a "Spirit Week." It's funny, because the week didn't
work out too well, but the Lord opened a door for us to be a witness to
them, especially the leaders. I would meet with the leaders for planning
and we would pray together. Myself and another Spirit-filled girl would
get in the Spirit and people that never felt the Holy Ghost or heard
tongues got a good dose! It's funny because in the first meeting the
leader of the Baptist Student Union was complaining about someone telling
him he needed tongues and then in the prayer he heard them for the first
time!
We had a Christmas party that our group organized and we had a man from our
church come and preach. I was like you, I had to tell him to please be
very careful what he preached. He almost didn't come because I told him
that, but it was the will of God. He preached on the oneness, but with
such wisdom that it wasn't offensive. We spent hours afterwards talking
with people. One girl, a famous radio preacher's daughter sat there with
him and went through all the doctrine. She was really struggling between
the truth and what her dad taught.
Hang in there brother! You never know what the Lord might do. Have you
ever thought about getting your church involved in a campus ministry?
God Bless,
-Rachel

>It isn't a oneness organization, but it does give me some friends that at
>least believe some of the Bible and in having morals. Our campus is known
>as a place where people can come and get drunk. We have a brewery right
>here in town. The group I am involved with is associated with Campus
>Crusade for Christ. We are running between 80 and 120 each week with about
>140 - 150 in Bible studies. I'm on prayer committee, it challenges me to
>spend time praying for our campus, and also praying that God will reach
>these people with the whole truth. I will never be allowed to teach a
>Bible study, but I can talk to the people one on one and tell them the
>truth. I haven't been able to lead anyone to the point of receiving the
>Holy Spirit into their lives yet, but I have made some think and reevaluate
>what and why they believe what they believe. God has a plan for me, I just
>need to be receptive to it. I would love to meet some other oneness people
>here at UWSP, but I don't have any expectations of that happening.
