Yes, deciding who is a christian and who is not; who is saved and who 
is not is actually to make yourself into God.

Well, Dave. These men have infinately much more knowledge than you, so 
how can you know they are wrong and you are right?

The text Robert wrote about, among others, Kant and Hawkins is very 
speculative. He projects some kind of evil motivations into their 
minds, passing judgment at people he don't know. Kant was actually a 
christian (even though he was at odds with the clerical powers of his 
day), and his philosophy did much to counter-balance the effect of 
Hume's agnosticism. That Hawkins is a christian is well known.

Again I am reminded about the pharisee and the tax collector who prayed 
to God...
