Information about the sabbath day

It seems that the early church gathered on Sunday, because Paul told
the Corinthians:

 1Co 16:2 Upon the first [day] of the week let every one of you lay by him
    in store, as [God] hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I
    come.

And, since we try to follow the *EXAMPLE* of the early church, in
baptism as well as in other doctrines, then so do we gather on the
first day of the week to pay tithes and offerings.
