>Walk means to "to march in [millitary] rank."
>It is used three times in the NT, the others being; Gal 5:25, Ph'p 3:16.
>Steps means to "a track."
>It is used three times in the NT, the others being; 2 Co 12:18, 1 Pe 2:21.
>Now the word "faith," I found to be a word diferent from what we think.
>It means; "to persuade." that is the faith of Rom 4:12
>The other faith in the bible means "belief, following.

>Can you help me with what Paul is saying in Rom 4:12.

12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision
only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham,
which he had being yet uncircumcised.
My understanding of this scripture is that it is saying that Abraham had
faith in God which justified him with God BEFORE he was circumcised. So
the Gentiles also who are not circumcised can be justified before God
without physical circumcision because they have faith in God just like
Abraham had faith in God.
I think the Jews were struggling with whether or not the Gentiles had to be
physically circumsized after they became Christians. Paul taught that they
didn't need to because faith was enough. Circumcision in the Old Testament
was a symbol of the circumcision of the heart in the new testament.
But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the
heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men,
but of God. Romans 2:29.
God bless
Rachel

>"Be You're Beary Best Every Day"
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O
mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon
his afflicted.
But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion
on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are
continually before me. (Isaiah 49:13-16)
