    Pretty simple, eh? :)

Pretty Biblical! Recall that tithes are not paid on the income, but
the increase. This can be gifts, prizes, scholarships (!), etc. In
other words, whenever God blesses you, he wants his cut, his
commision, his brokerage fee. If you keep him happy, then he will continue to do business with you. GOOD DEAL !!!

I am in business for myself as a computer consultant. I have only
small expenses compared to, say, a manufacturing business, or a
farmer, or a grocery store. Since I have large profit margins, my
corporation pays 10% tithes on its gross income. The first check I
write when I write a deposit slip it the tithes on that deposit. I do
not try to figure what my expenses were and the compute my
corporation's net income, or worse, keep retained earnings in my
corporation and only consider them income when I pay myself. I know
that if I pay 10% on gross income, I am not cheating God nor am I
getting myself into a complicated calculation to figgure my tithes.
Its deductable in the end anyway, so whats the difference?

If I had a low profit margin business, especially a profit margin
under 10%, this simplistic approach would not be workable, but God has
blessed me, so I have it easy: I can pay 10% of gross and still have
enough left to make offerings (which, incidently, are in addition to
tithes) and still have enough to live on.

The fundamental principle of tithing is 10% is required; its not
optional, or a love offering, or anything else. Its required!
Offerings are above and beyond that. You think you are blessed if you
tithe? Try giving offerings too. You don't know what a blessing is yet!
