EarthQuakes and Praise

Ahem. Anything I missed? How are disasters who cause calamity and 
suffering to thousands of people "praise"?

Please don't tell me you believe we are living in the last days because 
there is "increase in wars, earthquakes, blablablah" to paraphrase one 
of the recent Watchtowers...

While deaths due to eathquakes still cause much suffering, these 
disasters are much less frequent in our times that in all earlier 
centuries. Like we have seen a dramatic decrease in war calamities, 
pestilence and famine in our century. *That* is a reason to praise!
