A couple of changes have been made to the Higher-Fire list in an
attempt to improve the content and character of the list. My hope
is that most of the list members will see this as an improvement.
Please let me know what you think, whether you think the changes
are good or bad. Just please don't flame me too bad.
1. This is now a moderated list. The moderators (currently
just me) must approve each message before it is distributed to
the list. To reassure Jan, OEy, Bro Foster, and others, I will
not use moderation to squelch discussion on difficult topics
(with an exception I'll note in just a second). Moderation will
be used primarily to prevent the kind of ruckus we saw this last
weekend. I *may* also (at my discretion) discard "me too" types
of posts.
The exception I hinted at: if I declare a temporary hiatus on a
subject, like the wildly popular "Christology/oneness vs etc"
one I have on currently, I may use moderation to enforce this
hiatus.
It would be really nice to have someone share moderation duties.
Please send me mail if you'd like to volunteer. Since this list
is for Oneness Pentecostals, any moderator must be a Oneness
Pentecostal. You must be able to handle a fairly large volume
of mail, but it is very easy to do.
2. This change you'll either love or hate, I'm not sure. Most
people who leave the list do so because of the volume of mail
they receive from the list. I've set a limit on the number of
messages that can be distributed each day; currently, this limit
is 10 messages (probably too low). If you're person number 11
to post on that day, it won't go out until after midnight. Let
me know what you think about this limit.
Thanks for your opinions, your prayers, and your participation
here.
