A barrel o' testimonies!

Praise the Lord saints!
Well, as the subject says, I have a nice testimony I'd like to share with
you all! I'm telling you what... when the Lord starts doing good stuff I
just can't hold my peace! :)
(Now those of you who are regulars on IRC #apostolic may have heard this
already, but I guess you'll just get a double portion! :)
It all started on Sunday night, January 21. Our pastor, Pastor Simeon
Young, preached a message about stewardship. In this message he covered
many areas of Christian living, among one of those being tithing. When
he was talking about tithing, he spoke of paying tithes on gifts. Now, I
had never done this before. Not that I was trying to be defiant, just
that I always thought tithing was to be paid on what you earned in wages
and that was it. I was new to this "giving on gifts" concept. I went
home that night, popped open the 'ole Microsoft Money and figured up how
much money I owed God in back tithes. Much to my suprise, it wasn't
really that much at all. It was actually less than I would spend taking
someone like Kathy out for a fine meal! :) So, I called him the next
day and talked to him about it more and cleared up my questions. Indeed,
I owed Jesus some green!
My next move came Wednesday evening, our next service after that Sunday
evening message. I figured up how much I owed and I wrote a check out to
the church. Now I wasn't all too excited about giving this money; I have
been really trying to save my money and I didn't really want to spend
*any* money on *any* thing. But I knew it was the thing to do, so I cut
the check to the church. Praise God! The money is in God's hands. I have
done my job.
The next day, or a few days thereafter, I got a nifty little piece of
e-mail from the user services manager of our school's computing center.
She sent this message to everyone in the school, announcing that the
computing center was hiring operators, documentation managers, and *a
student web page developer*! YES! Now those of you who know me know how
much I am into this web thing! I wanted this job bad! The instructions in
the e-mail were as follows:
1. Write a letter, explaininig why you want the job
2. Sign up and be interviewed for the position.
There was a teensy-weensie problem though: when I was here over the
summer, I made a web page that was a little offensive to this person (it
had cow sounds on it... she found out it was me! :( So, I first had to
apologize to her. And I did. And then after that the blessings just
started flowing!
I did work for another branch of the computing center. My boss was
talking to this lady one day, and she told my then-boss she was hiring me.
Notice I *never* said I was interviewed and my cover letter was never
submitted! In fact, about the exact same time I was writing my name down
on the interview sheet was about the same time the user services manager
was telling my boss I was hired! I got the job!
So ya want details, eh? Alrighty then! I got a *131%* pay increase, I get
to work whenever I like, and when I go to work I get to take my CD's to the
manager area (that part of the computing center with all of the fast,
cool, computers like Richard uses... ;) and jam to Jesus while I write
web pages! Praise God! This is the job that I have always wanted here! I
love my new job!
Since then, things have *drastically* turned around for me financially!
My big daddy phone bill is paid off, those who I owed money to are happy,
and Columbia House Music Club has been paid in full! I am no longer in
debt! On top of that, I now have money in the checking account, being
saved for when I reach the glory land 16 days from now! And on top of
*that*, this new position will be quite a benefit to my resume! :)
So, as I learned in speech class, it is good to go over what you just
told the audience; a summary so-to-speak...
1. I owed tithes
2. I paid tithes
3. God opened up the windows of Heaven and poured out a blessing!
Pretty simple, eh? :)
I thank God! He totally blew my mind. I knew I had a chance at this job,
but I *never* expected it to be dropped in my lap like it was! God is soo
awesome!
So, if you are a little behind on your tithes, well, you know what to do.
Whoever said that paying tithes was a dumb thing to do was surely a fool.
There is no way all of this blessing I have received can be coincidental.
And I'm not just talking about $$$ blessing, I'm talkin' all *sorts* of
blessings! Take my word for it saints, this cat is *BLESSED*! :)
...just thought I'd share that with you! :)
God bless you all!!!
Andy
