Perhaps I was operating under a false assumption

I did indeed make a request to Bro. Masoner that Jan be dropped from
this list.  That request was not made out of hate, but rather out of
my understanding that this list exists for the discussion of our
beliefs, and for fellowship among like-minded saints.  

Jan's postings have always struck me as "on the edge", but I have also
found them generaly challenging intellectually, and not really
offensive, but just different.  When his position on universal
salvation became clear to me (I understood him to mean that everybody
will be saved, which puts a whole new slant on the old hymn "When we
ALL get to heaven"...), I found his position so inconsistent with what
I felt to be the views of this group that I requested his removal from
it, not to censor his free speech, but to direct it to a more
appropriate place.

I have seen alt.christnet.* newsgroups almost destroyed by vindictave
homosexuals and others whose views differed radically from the views
of the newsgroup's charter.  I am in no way suggesting that Jan falls
into those categories, but I am suggesting that his views are
divergent enough from the charter of this list that it is my request
that he be removed.

I tried to be very civil about the matter, and cc-ed him the email I
sent Bro. Masoner, so he would know what was going on.  I asked him if
there were other newsgroups or mailing lists where he espoused these
views. 

It is important to remember that all I made was a request, and that
originally by private email.  It is Bro. Masoner's decision what to do
about it, if anything.  Perhaps Bro. Masoner will reprimand me.  I
will submit to Bro. Masoners desires in this matter, as he is the list
owner.  As of yet, I have not heard from him.  Until then, let us try
to be civil and Christian about this matter.  If I have offended
anyone on this list with this matter (and I suspect that I have), you
have my sincere appologies.
