ATA->ERROR with ZyXEL U-336S

Hi there,

After having lots of problems with a USR Sportster, I finally got a
ZyXEL U-336S (the loarge one with the LCD display). Well, it looks
great, itīs big enough to place my ISDN-TA on top of it, but it does not
work as I expect it to :-(

When I call it, it says "RING", mgetty says "ATA", the Modem says
"ERROR". Very nice, after the 5th time init says "mgetty respawning too
fast".

I can reproduce the problem easily using minicom. I use the default
configuration, and tracked down the problem a bit: I have to insert a
large pause between the RING and the ATA, and another pause after the
ATA and before the Carriage return. If I use a answer-chat like 
   "" "\d\d\d\d\d\dATA\d\d" "CONNECT", 
it works _sometimes_. This is annoying, isnīt it?

I upgraded to the last firmware 1.16 (I didnīt remember with which
firmware it was shipped), and downgraded to 1.14, same problem.
