caller id help

I cant get to the caller id info in the cnd.c file.   I have a RH linux
box with an internal USR
sportster Voice.  If I
configure the dialin.config to reject callers based on the caller id
info, it works.....  if I try
to set debugging info in the
code to print out the callerid info i get a callerid name or number of
"" or none.  I want to use
the callerid name or number to
create a "name/number'.wav file that I can email myself.  It;s just
strange that I can deny
callers by cnd info but I cant print
out the names/numbers that did the deny/accept.  I have also turrned the
logging up to 6 for junk
but it still says "" or none,
