distinctive ring

I've not been able to discover anything about this so I'll ask here. If
there is an obvious place for this information, point me there and I'll go
away :)

I need to use distinctive ring support to answer on "RING B" and ignore
"RING A". The only documentation I could find on doing this uses vgetty;
however, I do not have a voice modem so I don't see any reason to use
vgetty. (If anyone wants to know, I have a 3Com Sportster V.90 Fax modem.
Please no flames about the modem.)

In any event, I did try with vgetty on the off chance I could make it
work, but it didn't. I also couldn't figure out if there is distinctive
ring support in mgetty, and if so, how to enable/use it.
