problems mit pvf

I am sorry about the previous email written in German... 

I use

mgetty+sendfax by Gert Doering
experimental test release 1.1.19-Nov24

on Linux 2.0.33 / intel 
with a ZyXEL U-1496 E 

The answering machine funktion itself works fine, but I've got problems
with the pvf tools. I habe a message file als wav and I'm trying to
convert it to rmd. The wavtopvf seems to work als I can reconvert it to
wav an "play" it without problems. But either the pvf produced is not
quite compartible to pvftormd or pvftormd is somehow broken. 

ommm:/root # wavtopvf ernie.wav ernie.pvf

Can anyone tell me what the problem is?
