Some voice modems (at least ELSA33.6-TS) can be put in a "verbose mode", in
which you can actually hear the caller thru the modem speaker... No piping,
no delays...
Don't know, whether there is a vgetty switch for that, or one has to poke in
the sources (which I did, some versions ago). Poorly, I forgot which AT
command caused the ELSA modem to enter "verbose mode", but the info must be
somewhere on my harddisk...
I dropped the idea of using the ELSA modem for voice stuff... quality was
*ummh* ...poor :-) ...
