Fax connect speeds

Or at least that's what your modem is telling you:

You're telling the modem "fine mode is allowed, maximum speed 14400", and
the modem accepts it.

The modem reports back something that doesn't really make sense - normal
mode, 2400 bps, but MUCH delay for every scan line in the fax.

Let's do some timing math.  

(16533 bytes * 8 bits/bytes) / 55 seconds (37:21 to 38:16) = 2404 bits/sec.

Seems that it's really only doing 2400 bps.  If that is so, your modem
doesn't want to use a higher speed.

Besides this, everything looks pretty good...
