Hi Gerd, hi Marc, hi list!
I posted this about a week before, but no replies :-( Maybe because I forgot
to set up my realname (it was the new installed machine of a friend).
We have a linux pc with a leased line to the internet and want to
connect another computer (amiga) per serial nullmodem cable to this pc.
System: Linux 2.2.13pre12 (Redhat), mgetty 1.1.14
Problem:
I get the /etc/issue of the linux pc and I am prompted fuer my username
('...login:'). But when I enter the username (jens), nothing happens.
I'm not even prompted for a password.
My /etc/mgetty+sendfax/login.config contains:
jens 500 @ /bin/login
mgetty is started via: 7:2345:respawn:/sbin/mgetty -s 19200 -r ttyS1
/var/log/mgetty.log.ttyS1:

What does that getpwnam line wants to say to me? Who can give me a hint?
