Problem with PPP server via mgetty

Hi,
I'm using my linux server as ppp dial-in server with mgetty 1.0.0 with
pppd 2.2.0. Very nice.
But there is a problem: I can't connect into my linux server from one of
the five tested Win95/Win98/Linux-Clients.
The logfile /var/log/mgetty.ttyS0 looks normally like this...
> 10/20 14:58:03 yS0 got: 64000 <xxxxxxxxxx>[0d]
> 10/20 14:58:03 yS0 CND: CONNECT 64000 <xxxxxxxxxx>
> 10/20 14:58:03 yS0 CND: found: 64000 <xxxxxxxxxx>[0a] ** found **
> 10/20 14:58:03 yS0 waiting for line to clear (VTIME), read: ~[ff]}#[c0]!}!}!} }7}"}&} }*} } }%}&}%V[9a]$}'}"}(}"}-}#}&$[81]~
> 10/20 14:58:03 yS0 looking for utmp entry... (my PID: 1365)
> 10/20 14:58:03 yS0 utmp + wtmp entry made
> 10/20 14:58:04 yS0 tio_set_flow_control( HARD )
> 10/20 14:58:04 yS0 getlogname (AUTO_PPP), read:~[ff]}#[c0]!
> 10/20 14:58:06 yS0 input finished with '\r', setting ICRNL ONLCR
...and so on. The pppd starts after that. Fine.
But one (of two) Win98-Clients can't connect. The logfile says...
> 10/21 20:48:52 yS0 getlogname (AUTO_PPP), read:~}![af][82]} }#}!}!}#} [df][f0]~~}!?[eb][df]~~}![af][82]} }#}!}!}#} [df][f0]~~}!?[eb][df]~~}![af][82]} }#}!}!}#} [df][f0]~~}!?[eb][df]~~}![af][82]} }#}!}!}#} [df][f0]~~}!?[eb][df]~~}![af][82]} }#}!}!}#}
[df][f0]~~}!?[eb][df]~~}![af][82]} }#}!}!}#} [df][f0]~~}!?[eb][df]~~}![af][82]} }#}!}!}#} [df][f0]~~}!?[eb][df]~~}![af][82]} }#}!}!}#} [df][f0]~~}!?[eb][df]~
> 10/21 20:49:12 ##### failed dev=ttyS0, pid=1392, got signal 1, exiting
...no pppd, no fun :( There are two many characters after getlogname.
What's this? I have no problem with 4 other Win98/Win95/Linux-Clients, but
this Win98-Client makes my crazy.
I have to say that this Win98 PC uses the client for microsoft and the
client for netware too (netware-client as default). But this can not be
the problem. Or? This PC can connect to internet providers without any
problem.
Thanx.
Christian.
