Maybe I mix up the two terms. As I understand it:
fax on demand:
User calls the modem and gets after selecting the requested fax the fax right now.
Advantage: No additional dialings, no costs for the server.
Disadvantage: The fax server does not know to whom the fax goes, and legale it is not an invitation for
further faxes.
fax back:
User calls the modem and select the fax, enter his own fax number and hang up.
Advantage: user can request the fax from another place than the fax (e.g. receiving to a modem)
Legale it is an invitation to send the fax and therefore legal to follow up later with updated info.
Disadvantage: the cost for the fax is on the server site, the fax could be sent to other people.
In both cases, the modem must be able for voice instructions for the user and receive info via DTFM.
I am looking for something that sends the fax during the first request. It is e.g., the instructions for our users,
how to setup their computer for dialing into our ISP.
