ZyXEL 1496 and 2864 combo won't pick up with vgetty

Utter silence. Not a whisper. Not even a simple message stating that they

I forgot all about that.... Let me see if I still have the problem, my log
file goes back till 12 sept:
vgetty.cuaa1:09/13 00:23:40 aa1 error removing lock file (huh?!): No such
file or directory
vgetty.cuaa1:09/13 02:02:04 aa1 error removing lock file (huh?!): No such
file or directory
... and vgetty is:
-rwx------ 1 bin bin 198015 Sep 13 11:21 /usr/local/sbin/vgetty
I guess something fixed it. (Running mgetty 1.1.9-Aug17, vgetty 0.7.3 /
10Aug97) Could also be something in FreeBSD as I regularly update the source
tree and do a make world.
