Mgetty & Linux PPP-2.2.0a

Hello all!

I think that I don't have any problems with the locking mechanisms between
mgetty/pppd. 
But:
	when the chat-Script begins with "ATZ" and awaits the "OK"
	it it not received most of the time. Sometimes the chat-script
	works succesfully, but most of the time it hangs until the
	timeout-delay is over.
This happened after the update to pppd2.2.0a. With the pppd2.1.2-version I
have never had such problems and everything worked from the start.
After nights of work on the chat-script :-((, I disabl”ed the mgetty and
from now on the script works like a charm with pppd2.2.0a.
Has anyone experienced the same and if yes: how can one cope with this
problem.
