Yep, I know, but it has the same affect to the end user... us.

Anyway, bringing things back onto line. I have a small problem with
mgetty. I have a Netcomm voice modem, (Rockwell chipset), with Linux
v2.1.something, with 550 UARTs. I find that the voice recording tends to
get garbled, and quite uncomprehensible sometimes. When I playback the
recorded file I usually get sparodic clicks and noise, mixed with silence.
I tried reducing the silence detection level, but to no avail. Oh, I'm
using mgetty v0.22. Any ideas? Pointers?

Thanks!
