Too fast NO_DIAL_TONE error

Hello,

I have a problem with sending voice message true my USR 56K modem.
The problem is when vm pick up the line to call a number. 
If i use dip of any other software that uses a modem and do 
atdt<number> the modem beep a few times (about 5,6) before the line is
up
then rings, buy vm is too fast and im getting NO_DIAL_TONE after
the modem beeps 3 times. I tried looking in the source to change that,
but 
with no results.

P.S i'm trying to run the message.sh script from mgetty-1.1.21 .
